The Question is, Does The DNC Have a Plan For The Peace?
All throughout this election season, the DNC had one play in their playbook: blame Bush for everything. Everything from global warming, the hurricanes in Florida, to the birth of Al Qaida and the lack of flu shots, the DNC has thown everything including the kitchen itself (forget just the sink) at Bush and those that support him. Blacks are once again being prompted to hate whites, young people are told not to trust government, and our brave men and women are being told that their commander in chief is incompetent. The media has also done its fair share in misreporting the news regarding Iraq and the president. They have even gone as far as outright lying. For a society which believes most of what they see on television, this is very dangerous. Yet they continue to put the pedal to the medal in portraying America as the most evil spot in the world.
This great unrest has even affected our military. Just today I heard on the radio a young female soldier that had called her mom and told her to “raise hell” here in the states regarding the inadequate equipment that her troop still had not received due to delays (which are common on the battlefield). This young soldier’s mother, moving totally on raw emotion went to NBC’s Today show (who was more than happy to air this soldier’s grievance with the military on national television). The sad part is that the soldier, her mother, or even NBC took the time to realize that all the people that we are fighting against also have access to the Today show. Just think how please Osama , Zarquari, and the rest of Al Qaeda must have been to hear that kind of news!
With all of this chaos going on in the country today, I am wondering just how John Kerry plans to mend all of these divisions together if he was to win the election? The fact that he does not have a proven track record of doing that sort of thing really scares me. To be truthful with you, I do not think that that the DNC expected to have a chance to win this round of elections considering the fact that they were going against a president in the middle of a major war. I think that their goal was to make a statement. But as more people became angry about how the war was going, they began to see the possibilities. They realized that if they were going to have a chance on winning, they could not turn their back on the anit-war/Bush crowd.
The wounds that have been created during this election season will not go away easily. Blacks will be more suspect of whites, young men and women will think twice about defending their country, and most of all, our governmental system will loose much of its respect amongst all people (abroad and domestically). It takes more than the mere ability to debate well to heal those kind of wounds. If the DNC thinks that those that voted for Bush will just “magically” fold themselves under the wings of DNC leadership quietly, they are gravely mistaken. The same is true if Bush was to win the election. Bush will go down in history for some as the man who stole the presidential elections twice. This will of course breathe new life in the careers of people like Jesse Jackson, and others like him who have spent almost a lifetime capitalizing on people’s dislike of the US government.
If the DNC does win these elections, no, I am not predicting the end of the world. However, I do believe that four years from now, we will be closer to it.
