Woman becomes 1st black female sergeant

“The 35-year-old now holds the distinction of becoming Boynton Beach’s first African-American female sergeant, but she wants people to look beyond the label and laughs about the number of times people have commented on it.

“It really doesn’t matter if they hired a green Martian if a person is able to do the job and is the best person for the job,” said the six-year police officer.

  1. i think its very excellent for a black woman to step up and show other people the it does not matter what color you are, what matters is if you know how to do the job.
