Some of my random thoughts:
The billboard for Curtis Jackson’s (That’s his name, and that’s how he will be addressed here) latest movie about his life entitled “Get Rich or Die Tryin†has caused quite a stir out here in Southern California. The one big point that I immediately noticed was how MSM has not mentioned the race of the activists. If these activists had been white, MSM would not have any problem mentioning that fact. Why? Because they know that would sell. Black folks dealing with their own dirty laundry doesn’t–plain and simple. The sad thing is, even some black publications are following suit by not mentioning this story. If the activists were white—FRONT PAGE–and folks from all over would rush to his defense against white aggression. Read more »

The Sphinx Organization is a national non-profit founded in 1996 by Aaron P. Dworkin. Aaron started playing violin at age 5, finished high school at Interlochen, and went on to complete his B.M. and M.M. in violin performance at the University of Michigan. During his music education, he often found himself in orchestras where he was either the only minority or one of only a handful. Aaron founded Sphinx to help change this situation, to overcome the cultural stereotype of classical music, and to address the isolation and limited access that young Blacks and Latinos face in the classical music world. Americans holding U.S. passports issued after October 2006 will carry embedded radio frequency identification (RFID) (define) chips inside the documents, according to the U.S. State Department.
The State Department announced the final regulations this week and will begin a pilot program in December, issuing passports to government employees who use official or diplomatic passports. (more…)
