What is China up to these days?

I have noticed an increase of interaction between China and Africa. At first glance, the relationship sounds promising as China has been pouring money into African nations to help build much needed infrastructure and forgiving massive amounts of debt (roughly 1.3 billion US dollars). With all of that being said, the reality that China is still a communist nation with a very poor human rights record still lingers in the back of my mind. Here is a recent article that has me wondering about this venture:

African students learning Chinese amount to 8,000
BEIJING, Nov.27 (Xinhuanet) — There are over 8,000 African students learning Chinese and the number is on the increase, said Zhou Ji, China’s education minister here at Sunday’s Sino-African Education Minister Forum.
Nearly 120 schools in 16 African countries had opened Chinese courses by July 1, 2005, said Zhou, and to meet the increasing need of African students, China has sent nearly 200 teachers to Africa.
In Sudan alone, Chinese learners have amounted to 450, and many have come to China to learn on Chinese government scholarships, according to Peter Nyot Kok, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Sudan.
China has also assisted African countries such as Cameroon, Egypt, Mauritius in building linguistic laboratories for Chinese language learning and provided Chinese books as well. (more…)

The continent of Africa is still trying to recover from the effects of European colonialism. The last thing that is needed is a communist infiltration.
Black American media should be all over this and stop wasting time on the “Blame Bush for everything” stories. Think outside the box y’all created for yourselves.
Oh well, leave it to the blogs.

I have a funny feeling ,deep down inside China is up to something, and it won’t be good for America. With all that is taking place in the Middle East and considering the lenth of time we have been focused on the Middle East. Our Government has really fell behind on intellegence on China.I feel they are building up a Military Force, that will very difficult to deal with, its a realistic possibilty they could even take out the U.S.The general way of thinking in America is that we are the super power and no other Country can really harm us.Wake up folks, this is no longer the case.We pump billions of dollars into China’s economy.Do you really think it goes to the people. These folks are very intellegent they are very savey when it comes technology.I checked last week, everything in my house “almost” is made in China, except a few other things they were made in Mexico.I did find a couple of things made in the USA, was some greeting cards.I can only imagine the weapons systems they are developing I’m sure they will be intense.Oh Well maybe I’m crazy history shows I’m not. I think America needs to take a long hard look at whats going on and make some changes before its to late. Thanks for time J.C
