Duane, Thanks for the correction. At some point the Darfur situation seemed to be another Muslim vs Christian conflict. You are no doubt correct.

Here is some suggested activism: We need to call our respective senators an weigh in on both the immigration and the Darfur situations. I wish that I was computer savvy enough to put a link to all the senators within the blog. But, please don’t let the inconvience prevent action.

As a resident of Los Angeles, I was not at all affected by the Day Without Illegal Immigrants. I am tired of Illegal Immigrants and their supporters trying to make it an issue of Immgrants, forgetting that American is made up of Immigrants. If ALL Immigrants had protested, there would be no one left! The fact of the matter is that Illegal Immigrants will come here and “fight” for “civil rights” in OUR country, but won’t demand the same in THEIR OWN COUNTRY just a few miles away.

If I were an illegal, I’d be appauled at the fact that my brothers and sisters will come to America and settle for slave wages, but not fight for freedom in our OWN COUNTRY!

Black people need to realize that this issue strongly effects us.

Let me correct you…

Arab Muslims are killing Africans in Darfur/Sudan. This is not a Muslim Vs. Muslim conflict.

Secondly…

Immigration and the situation in Sudan are both very important issues that affect us in different ways. If you can convince black America that the Sudan situation is more important that exposing which high profile white person that used the n-word, you will be my hero for the day.

To a short degree, I agree with you. But what you are proposing here is for us to take the same steps many communist countries have taken both past and the present: A redefinition of our language.The forces of Communism/Socialism are very real and to simply “erase” labels in this debate would simply mask the forces in this issue that have a much greater and destructive motive.

No, what needs to happen here is not only an acknowledgement of labels/beliefs, but an agreement to disagree.
