The author is a 70-something year old black woman who has gained national exposure in recent years. I recommend the cookbook for her mini autobioigraphy alone--very inspirational. The book is full of simple, healthy recipes that don't require any exotic ingredients. This is the best cookbook that I own, and it has several recipes that would make an awesome Sunday dinner. Season (salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paparika)to taste and put in the oven covered until done. Simple easy done in a flash. LEMON CHICKEN
