We can’t have that,’” Sherwood said that critics have said.”It’s just been all the stereotypes. … I’ve even been stereotyped for being rich, being on full scholarship, [being] not in touch with my own black community at Duke. … It’s terrible to find yourself being stereotyped,” Sherwood said.“And you’re like, ‘Hold on. This couldn’t be much further from the truth,’” he said. “You know? Read the whole article. Based on his account, it is likely that his teammates did use racial slurs, but he does stand by his teammates’ account of the other alleged events of that night.

(e) expect the white man to do everything for him;

(f) look for easy and quick solutions as a substitute for the harsh realities of competitive struggle to get ahead.

The result is a persecution complex-a warped belief that the white man’s prejudices, the white man’s system, the white man’s government is responsible for everything. Such a belief is the way the reds plan it, for the next logical step is hate that can be used by the reds to accomplish their ends.

In their campaign against the white leaders in America, the reds are careful to point out that this does not apply to the white leaders of Russia and their counterparts in America. This creates the illusion that the white communists are different; that they are the friends and champions of the Negroes. “Huang recalls how he once played ping-pong with Arji Buwa, Ugandan 400-meter hurdle Olympic champion: “Africans are famous for their athletic prowess, and the soccer skills they displayed in recent World Cup matches were particularly impressive. It is, however, less widely known that they also excel in the arts.” Huang met many folk artists on his various trips to different African countries who could all create beautiful wood or stone carvings with no plan other than a picture in their mind’s eye. On asking one Ugandan folk artist why all his statues had just one eye, he replied that seeing through a single eye fully focuses the viewer’s attention. It was then that Huang began to comprehend the different characteristics of oriental and African culture, the former exquisite, and the latter startlingly original.

Huang carries on: “Africans are by nature optimistic and honest. Music and movement are an inalienable aspect of their daily life.” In 1978 the China Oriental Song & Dance Ensemble went to Uganda for a cultural exchange with the Dingjidingji Song & Dance Ensemble — today’s Uganda National Troupe. They performed a Ugandan dance expressing the joy of harvest, but on being told by a local resident that they had overlooked some details, the ensemble stayed for another two days to learn the dance properly.

Africa attaches as much importance to education as China does, and Zimbabwe spends one quarter of its revenue on education. Huang once observed that although Ugandan children’s schools often consisted of nothing more than the shade of a tree, pupils were nonetheless assiduous in their studies. NEVER question the victim (NQTV)

Years ago before I was married, a good friend of mine who was married at the time had two beautiful little girls. I remember the occasions when I would find at least one of them crying uncontrollably either at their house or in the lobby at church. Like any good “uncle” I would pick them up and do all I can to make them feel that everything was going to be alright. When I approached their parents with one of these pitiful little girls, in many cases they did not share the same level of concern that I did. In fact, they would just politely ask me to put her down. Come to find out, anytime these little girls would get in trouble they would systematically look for those that would sympathize with their “pain”. Unfortunately, I was one of the highest ranked suckers of that time—that is, until I was married and had my own kids .

I bring up this simple story because like my initial response to these kids above, I am seeing way too much sympathy being poured out to the self-proclaimed victims in our society WITHOUT A WILLINGNESS TO KNOW THE FULL STORY! It was simple, straightforward, and it worked reasonably well for everyone. Critics can find flaws with any system; but the fact is that, overall, the overwhelming majority of patients and doctors were happy with this system; and that certainly cannot be said about the systems that have followed Indemnity Insurance in the past few years.

At this point, this case has been reduced to a joke

(Breitbart.com)The district attorney prosecuting three Duke lacrosse players accused of raping a woman at a team party said during a court hearing Friday that he still hasn’t interviewed the accuser about the facts of the case.

“I’ve had conversations with (the accuser) about how she’s doing. I’ve had conversations with (the accuser) about her seeing her kids,” Mike Nifong said. “I haven’t talked with her about the facts of that night. … We’re not at that stage yet.”

He may not have reached that stage yet, but apparently many feminists, so-called “Black leaders”, mainstream media, activists, and Black racists (who never see themselves as racists) think they have. The article continues…

Nifong made the statement in response to a defense request for any statements the woman has made about the case.

“I understand the answer may not be the answer they want but it’s the true answer. That’s all I can give them,” the prosecutor said after the hourlong hearing.

Defense lawyers said outside court that they found Nifong’s statement surprising.

“One of the most interesting things to me of course is Mr. Nifong did admit that he in fact has basically never talked to this woman and has absolutely no idea what her story is, and yet he has chosen to continue to go forward with this case,” defense lawyer Joseph Cheshire said.

Nifong used this case to win re-election from very angry Black folks. Uhhh, yeah– He better continue with the case otherwise plan on moving far away.

The phony concern over voter suppression

While folks in the last couple of elections were trumping of stories of widespread voter suppression, the following report was released:

Democrat Operatives Far More Involved In Voter Intimidation And Suppression In 2004, Thousands Of Americans Disenfranchised By Vote Fraud On Election Day

Washington, DC – The American Center For Voting Rights Legislative Fund (“ACVR Legislative Fund”) today released the most comprehensive and authoritative review of the facts surrounding allegations of vote fraud, intimidation and suppression made during the 2004 presidential election.

The ACVR Legislative Fund report, “Vote Fraud, Intimidation & Suppression In The 2004 Presidential Election,” finds that while Democrats routinely accuse Republicans of voter intimidation and suppression, neither party has a clean record on the issue. The report finds that paid Democrat operatives were far more involved in voter intimidation and suppression activities than were their Republican counterparts during the 2004 presidential election. Examples include paid Democrat operatives charged with slashing tires on GOP get-out-the-vote vans in Milwaukee and an Ohio court order stopping Democrat operatives from calling voters telling them the wrong date for the election and faulty polling place information.

The report further finds that thousands of Americans were disenfranchised by illegal votes cast and a coordinated effort by members of certain “nonpartisan” organizations to rig the election system through voter registration fraud in more than a dozen states. Examples include a law enforcement task force finding “clear evidence of fraud in the Nov. 2 election in Milwaukee,” including hundreds of felon and double voters and thousands more ballots cast than voters recorded as having voted in the city and multiple indictments and convictions of ACORN workers for voter registration fraud in several states. For the record, The American Center For Voting Rights Legislative Fund (ACVR) is an organization that is operated by both Democrats and Republicans (about). As expected, the usual suspects (many of whom were Liberal Democrats) that were screaming “bloody murder” while trying to tie it all to racial discrimination went silent on this report. To this day, there is very little mentioned about the findings of this report.

Charter schools are making a difference in California

LOS ANGELES, CA — (MARKET WIRE) — October 26, 2006 — California’s charter public school movement is experiencing consistent growth, particularly in inner-city areas, as 65 new charter schools opened statewide this fall. The increase in the number of new students choosing to enroll in charter schools brings statewide enrollment to nearly 220,000 students attending 618 charter schools. As of this fall, close to one in 15 public schools in California is a charter public school.

New charter schools in three of California’s largest school districts, Los Angeles Unified, San Diego Unified and Oakland Unified, accounted for almost half of the new charter schools opened this fall. This follows the ongoing trend of more charter schools opening up in urban communities with high concentrations of under-served kids.

Los Angeles, Oakland and San Diego Unified are also districts whose charter schools have most recently experienced the strongest student achievement gains. Why the private sector should take the lead in rebuilding New Orleans

As a follow-up to a post I did yesterday on this same issue, I decided to provide some examples of cities that have incorporated the “master planned community” concept. But first there are a couple of issues that need to be addressed.

Sidestepping accountablity

The reason why government waste is so common is because it lacks real time accountability that produces quick results. Consider Congressman William Jefferson (D-La)

* Rivals Duke Cunningham for the most outrageous bribery scandal allegations. Just when we thought the allegations of corruption could not get any more entertaining, the scandal stories of Rep. William Jefferson (D-La.) are keeping everyone tuned in to corruption sagas of Capitol Hill. The story includes $90,0000 in cold cash stuffed in a freezer, wiretaps and an FBI raid on Congress.
* The unfolding Jefferson scandal. In a guilty plea announced in January, 2006, former Jefferson aide Brett M. Pfeffer alleged that Jefferson demanded financial considerations in exchange for helping an investment firm establish a telecommunications company in Nigeria. Pfeffer, who served on Jefferson’s staff in the late 1990s, was the president of an investment company in McLean, Va., in 2004. Early that year, Jefferson told Pfeffer about a Kentucky-based company that held the rights to a technology that could be used to provide high-speed Internet service in Nigeria. Pfeffer, the founder of the Kentucky-based company, and an investor later held a meeting in Jefferson’s office.

The investor agreed to a plan to put $45 million into a new Nigerian internet company, primarily relying on a loan from the Export-Import bank. Jefferson allegedly aided the plan by traveling to Nigeria to meet with officials and holding meetings with Export-Import Bank officials to facilitate a loan. But Jefferson’s work on the Nigerian venture carried a price. In summer 2004, Jefferson allegedly said he would require that 5 percent to 7 percent of the newly formed Nigerian company be awarded to members of his family and that a family member receive $2,500 to $5,000 in monthly retainers

In July 2005, Jefferson, Pfeffer and an employee of the Kentucky-based company pursued a venture in Ghana similar to the effort in Nigeria. Jefferson allegedly traveled to Ghana, met with Ghanaian officials and met with representatives of the Export-Import bank to promote the deal. Pheffer believes that Jefferson also stood to gain financially by the Ghana deal, although he offered less specific evidence.

Both the Nigerian and Ghanaian deals collapsed after the investor pulled out. Jefferson has denied that he ever demanded or accepted “anything on behalf of myself, any member of my family or any third party.” [Statement of Facts, 1/11/2006; Times-Picayune, 1/12/2006and 1/14/2006; Washington Post, 8/13/2005]

* Investor turns informant and wears a wire. According to an FBI search warrant, Jefferson was videotaped accepting $100,000 in $100 bills from a Northern Virginia investor who was wearing an FBI wire. In one instance, at an unidentified D.C. restaurant, Jefferson allegedly exchanged cryptic notes with investor Lori Mody and discussed illegal kickbacks for his children in a telecommunications venture in Nigeria in which she had invested. “All these damn notes we’re writing to each other as if we’re talking as if the FBI is watching,” he told Mody, who was indeed wearing an FBI wire. The FBI probe began in March 2005 after Mody became concerned that Jefferson and others were trying to defraud her of millions of dollars that she had invested in iGate Inc., a Louisville high-tech company, the affidavit said. That was when the FBI and the U.S. attorney’s office in Alexandria set up a sting. [Washington Post, 5/22/2006]
* Cold cash in the freezer. As part of the investigation against Jefferson, on August 3, 2005, federal agents executed search warrants against Jefferson’s homes, car, and offices as part of an undisclosed investigation. The federal agents seized $90,000 in cash that was stuffed in plastic bags in Jefferson’s home freezer. This $90,000 was part of the $100,000 in cash that was handed over to Jefferson and videotaped in the sting operation. Five other offices were raided across the country in conjunction with the raid on Jefferson’s property.
* Former aide pleads guilty. Former Jefferson aide Brett Pfeffer, who was intimately involved in the scandal, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to bribe Jefferson as part of a plea bargain with the Department of Justice. On May 26, 2006, he was sentenced to eight years in prison.
* Looking out for himself. Jefferson was criticized by ABC News for the apparent misuse of National Guard resources to check on his personal belongings and property at the height of the Hurricane Katrina rescue efforts. According to a military source, Jefferson delayed two heavy trucks, a helicopter and several National Guard members for over an hour while he went back into his house to retrieve “a laptop computer, three suitcases and a box about the size of a small refrigerator.” [ABC News, 9/15/2005]
* Feds storm Capitol Hill. On May 20th FBI agents raided Jefferson’s Capitol Hill office and stayed for 17 hours collecting documents. This was the first time that the FBI had raided and searched a Congressional office. The raid followed explicit procedures laid out in a judge-approved search warrant. Nevertheless, it has created a furor on Capitol Hill as lawmakers from both parties have charged the FBI with violating the constitutional separation of powers between the congressional and executive branches. [Washington Post, 5/22/2006; Associated Press, 5/24/2006]

Congressman Jefferson is just one of many government officials who have been involved in criminal activity and yet has been able to hold on to their employment. Now compare the outcome of this case to the outcome of recent cases (such as Enron) where executives within the private sector have been found guilty of similar crimes. Researching Black history just became easier

(AP) - Gov. Tim Kaine Thursday unveiled a new program that will make it easier for black Virginians to trace their family histories.
The Virginia Freedmen Project will digitize over 200,000 images and records collected in the years after the Civil War.
Kaine says the program is the equivalent for African Americans of Ellis Island’s records being put up. (more…)

If you ever want to see the GOP go scared out of their minds, just take ANY issue and accuse them of racism. Take this so-called controversial anti-Ford ad as an example:

How is this racism? Interracial relationships are very common these days, so how is this racism or controversial for that matter?

“You are being sent this letter because you were recently registered to vote. If you are a citizen of the United States, we ask that you participate in the democratic process of voting. You are advised that if your residence in this country is illegal or you are an immigrant, voting in a federal election is a crime that could result in imprisonment, and you will be deported for voting without having the right to do so.” (more…)

While the wording in the second half of this excerpt is a little bad, any person with a half a brain should understand here that if they are illegal, THEY DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE IN THIS COUNTRY. Yet to critics, calling an illegal, illegal is considered racist. Gov. Schwarzenegger’s response?

SANTA ANA — Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, calling an intimidating letter sent to thousands of Hispanic voters “a hate crime,” said Saturday the Republican candidate whose campaign it was linked to should quit the race if he had anything to do with it.

Like many of you, I’ve been hit with political ads via e-mail like you would not believe. The worst e-mail by far comes from “One United Michigan”, a pro-affirmative action group for that state. Here is an excerpt:

Proposal 2 threatens diversity and safety in law enforcement

Law enforcement leaders, including the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police and the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan, are urging a No vote on Proposal 2, saying it will limit diversity in law enforcement and make communities less safe.

“Thirty years ago there were few women in law enforcement. We have made progress, but there is still much work to do,” said Kay Hoffman, Lansing Township chief of police and president of the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police. “Until women had a say, domestic violence was ignored by our society. Having women in police departments ensures law enforcement serves women as well as men.”

I’m not posting any more of this letter as you should by now have gotten the tone.

Clearly these folks no NOTHING about cities such as Los Angeles, Atlanta, Philadelphia, etc. where there is a significant minority presence on their police force. Yet these departments have been riddled with corruption and accusations that they are not doing enough for the community. Mind you, many of these departments are headed by “minorities”.

Should we as taxpayers foot the bill for New Orleans?

I’m a little mixed on this issue. While I agree that it is a waste of TAXPAYER dollars (Notice the distinction here. Private funds should be used FIRST) to go to folks that are going to rebuild in this disaster zone, unfortunately it would be an inconsistent move for the government. Here in the western half of the United States, folks regularly rebuild in fire and earthquake zones with government assistance. Government opened Pandora’s box involving itself in the disaster relief business in my opinion.

I think that it is fair to say that MANY people draw their conclusions about an issue based on the title and/or the first few lines of an article. Here is an example:

This title set the tone for me by leading me to believe that once again RACISM was in play with Black Katrina survivors. Now here is the rest of the article (I will use bold text to highlight key points)

A review of 3,000 complaints filed to state regulators over homeowner insurance payouts shows whites are much more successful in the process and much more aggressive.

A woman living in the devastated Lower Ninth Ward said she got fed up with numerous calls to her insurer and accepted the $34,000 for damages that totaled more than $120,000. She said she didn’t know she could appeal and doubted it would be worthwhile. (source)

Notice that the AP makes this into a race issue and not an issue of those who were persistent versus those who were not. I would imagine that similarly, whites who “didn’t know” also received less, yet the AP decides to separate this information by race.

Another example of how ANYTHING can be made into a race issue.

Men who live as women can now legally use women’s rest rooms in New York’s transit system under an unprecedented deal revealed yesterday.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority agreed to allow riders to use MTA rest rooms “consistent with their gender expression,” the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund announced yesterday.

The group filed a complaint against the MTA on behalf of a 70-year-old telephone repair technician who was arrested for using the women’s room at Grand Central Terminal.

The technician, who is assigned to the terminal by Verizon, was born Henry McGuinness but now goes by Helena Stone.

“I’m a 24-hour woman,” Stone declared proudly. “I just feel like a woman and I like to wear women’s clothes.” (more…)
