Poll: Obama Ahead Of Clinton Among African-American Voters
CHICAGO (CBS 2) — Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are just beginning their presidential campaigns, but a poll says there has already been a major shift among African-American voters.
A Washington Post poll shows Obama with 44 percent support from black voters, while Clinton had 33 percent.
Last month, another poll said Clinton led Obama by a huge margin among black voters, 80 percent to 20 percent. (source)
Correct me if I am wrong here, but I do not seem to recall ANY real initiative by Sen. Obama to fully discuss his political stances to the Black community exclusively (let alone to the rest of the nation). So far he has not said anything different than the other Democratic candidates yet according to this “poll” Black folks are abandoning Clinton for him.
As an African American, one need not question who I will vote for. There should not be any question as to who any of us will vote for. We’re so quick to criticize Obama about what he has or has not addressed; about where his allegiance is; or about whether he “has our back”. What have either of the Clintons done? What will she do? The only reason bill clinton got our vote the first time was because he played his horn on Arsenio Hall. That was all it took to buy the black vote.
There is not way in HELL I would vote for a white person over a black person — EVER. I’d vote for Clarence Thomas’ idiotic behind before I would vote for Clinton or any of her cohorts. Why? Because if Clarence were to win, people might get used to seeing a black face there from time to time. Then the next time, perhaps we could get someone in there of substance — like Obama!

Do yourself and your “point” a favor– Instead of using Whites (in this case, the Clintons) as your measuring stick, make a strong case as to why Americans should vote for Obama without making mention of his race.

Obama’s ‘cap’ plan on troops in Iraq has merit, but Kucinich’s ‘troops home yesterday!’ plan has my support…and maybe my vote.

Duane - please make a case of why we should vote for Clinton. For that matter I cannot think of any white politicians in my lifetime that have stuck their neck and/or their career on the line for African American issues.

Okay, now you have completely crossed over into sillyhood.
#1 - Nowhere did I mention anything about supporting Clinton or did I hint that she was the “better” candidate (btw, no way in heaven or hell would I vote for her)
#2 - Still you are unable to answer a simple question. So far, the only reason why you would vote for Obama is because he is Black. Do yourself a favor and add more value to your vote than that.
