Police eye noose suspect

A noose found dangling over the desk of a Hispanic man working at a nursing home was put there by a black co-worker, according to police, who are seeking a warrant for the co-worker’s arrest.
“An African-American co-worker admits to hanging it over the desk,” police Chief David Ridberg said of the noose.
On Dec.19, officers were called to investigate the incident at the Connecticut Health of Greenwich nursing facility at 1188 King St., police said. They later identified a co-worker as a suspect.
“The African-American co-worker admits it was a joke, admits to hanging it over the pipe over the desk,” Ridberg said.
The charges could be for disorderly conduct, although prosecutors will make the final decision, Ridberg said. Police also have reported the incident to the FBI, which has pledged to investigate the rash of noose incidents that have occurred across the state. (more…)
