Wizz, are you saying america went for the okey-doke? You may be on to something.

Duane, let's not be naive. The way politics is played today, Obama basically needs to purge all that stuff. If he didn't, his detractors would claim what? Be honest.

Charles Murray, author of "The Bell Curve" had an interesting take:

"Take, for example, the treatment of his reference to his white grandmother. Of course you can go after him in all the ways that people have gone after him—if what you want to do is go after him. But suppose you approach Obama’s text under the twin assumptions that (a) he is trying to communicate with you, and, (b) your obligation is to make a good-faith effort to understand his meaning. I read what he said about his grandmother, and his words left me in no doubt about two things: He really loves his grandmother, and he was saying something important about race that I recognized from my own experience. I bet many of the people who have slammed him recognize it from their own experience too. The guy was being honest, and he was being right. What the hell more do you want?"

Read his entire article here.

Now tell the rest of the story--

Pastor Wright Erased From Obama’s Website

Obama's preacher sanitizes website
Removes radical 'Black Value System' from church 'About Us' page

If there was nothing wrong with anything Wright said or preached (which was/is based on the Black Liberation Theology), why then A) did Obama remove him from his site (the section that was removed from Obama's site had NOTHING to do with his actual postion with the campaign and B) why did the church remove this "Black value system" off of their website? So if Wright was taken out of context like you are suggesting here, why then were these changes made?

Here is something else I came across this weekend,

Rev. Wright also included a pro-Hamas editorial in one of UCC's church bulletins

This is the same Hamas that was behind strapping two mentally-retarted women with bombs not to long ago.

DON'T MISS THE NEXT SENTENCE!!!

Obama should not be held accountable for his pastor's comments.

Having said that...

It is very clear that this kind of talk and outlook on America did not make Obama uncomfortable enough to leave. He is a liberal, so I would not expect him to feel uncomfortable (you may think that what I just said was a low blow, but most liberals do aggree with that rehtoric TO SOME DEGREE).

When Trent Lott said the crap he said a while back, Obama called for his head and rightfully so. When Imus said what he did, Obama was one of the first politicians to jump on it to score political points by calling for him to be fired. Obama spends 20 years under this type of pastor who believes and preaches this ideolgy and we are supposed to automatically put it in "context"?

The one thing that I will say is that the more conservatives on talk radio and television play out this thing over and over again, it is going to backfire on them. I say, move away from it and focus on his stance on this issues.

Getting back to Trent Lott, check out how Time magazine went as far back to his college days to dig up his stances regarding Blacks being accepted in the frat he was part of. Please take note of the title.

Trent Lott's Segregationist College Days

Now take a look how the same magazine is treating UCC.

The Origin of Obama's Pastor Problem
A Visit to Obama's Chicago Church

Let me give you a big hint, neither article delved into the racial aspects of this church and its doctrine. As readers, we are supposed to only focus on the good things this church has done. Nothing on his (Wright) support of Hamas, nothing on some of his other inflammatory comments and how they are just as wrong as comments made by some on the right.

And let's not forget here that Dems have been the greatest offenders of pulling the race card in this race.

Perhaps the biggest thing about this is that when Trent Lott or other Republicans were caught within a mile of comments made against Blacks, Democrats did not stop their association game until that person was removed from his post. When it is the other way around, we are supposed to see it in the (W)right context with a heaping dash of refernces to slavery and Jim Crow.

Hopefully all of this will somehow translate into a national discussion on the stances of each candidate. My gut feeling says it won't.

Dinner time for me. Take care.

Trinity United Church is fighting back and have created a YouTube channel and have began to post Rev. Wrights sermons... The one about "chickens come home to roost" is SO out of context that the so called "news" organizations should be embarrassed.

Before you demonize the man you could at the very least listen to him first.

Sermon I am referring to in full context:
FOX Lies!! Barack Obama Pastor Wright

Other Sermons: (including God D**n America!)
Trinity United YouTube Channel

They Also have a pretty good blog:
Truth About Trinity United Blog

You might disagree with what he is saying but it is NOT HATE.... And is in no way different than just about EVERY black church I have been to. They did him just like they did Imus..
